Michal Noga

(SK) – is a violinist, bandleader of Michal Noga Band and currently a folklore specialist at the National centre of culture and further education. He is a graduate of the Department of Ethnology and Folklore of the University of Constantine the Philosopher in Nitra. As a lecturer, he has many years of experience in teaching traditional folk music in various creative workshops. He researches the music of Eastern Slovakia, especially of old Roma violinists from the region. He applied his interpretive knowledge and mastery at his debut album Stopy, which won the Slovak Radio_Head Award 2020, ranked in the world music charts TOP 20 and was reviewed by Songlines magazine as one of the best world music albums in Slovakia in recent years.
