Balkan energy and dangerously infectious dance rhythm will be brought to Slovakia for the first time by the musical group Džambo Aguševi Orchestra from Northern Macedonia. Its frontman and founder Džambo Agušev comes from a family of musicians, and since childhood he has been drawn to playing wind instruments. He proved his exceptional talent at the age of 19 at a music competition in Kumanovo. Five years later, he competed with the top musicians of the Balkan scene at the biggest Serbian festival in Guča, where he won first prize. Džambo impressed the jury and guests with a sound that blends Macedonian tradition with Western influences. However, the ambition of Funky Tiger, as Džambo is often nicknamed, was to take his music beyond the borders of the Balkans. The gates to the world were opened to him by the WOMEX festival in 2014, and have remained wide open ever since.
