Driss El Maloumi Trio + Spectrum Quartett
MOROCCO, SLOVAKIA
18. 8. 2024 (Sunday)
Moyzes Hall, Bratislava
FOCUS MOROCCO
Driss El Maloumi is a Moroccan master of the traditional oud lute and a versatile musician who can open himself up to other influences, as evidenced by his recordings with Jordi Savall’s famous orchestra Hespérion XXI, or his performance in the trio 3MA (Morocco, Mali, Madagascar). For the Bratislava festival, however, Driss will bring traditional Moroccan music in a trio with his brother Said, who plays percussion, and another percussionist and singer, Lahoucine Baqir. Their album Aswat scored high in all the world music charts last year and the live version in Bratislava will be enriched by string instruments thanks to Slovak string ensemble Spectrum Quartett.
